The inland container depot (ICD) in Nairobi, Kenya has experienced slow business in the past week as more goods are cleared and transported by independent agents rather than KPA agents and standard gauge railway. Thus, clearing and transportation has been reverted back to Mombasa Port. This directive has affected business in neighbouring countries Like South Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda as the cost of transport has increased by roughly 35% due to the increased travel distance.
