Portuguese wine will have a higher cost

Another problem is coming on the way for wine producers. Besides the prices on glass bottle purchase that went up about 50%, now are the prices of carton used for boxes and aluminum used for capsules that will suffer a rise during this very week. Despite a good quantity and excellent quality that wines are presenting to the markets during 2022, all the materials and satellite products used on manufacturing and conditioning are rising, which make producers are suffering from prices. Final prices on these materials are yet to be know but general opinion is that it will go from 20% to 40%. This will for sure reflect on shelf price and some producers or distributors can brace themselves to suffer some loss due to fixed price contracts agreed in the past with importers and retailers.
