Potato stock in France hit hard by COVID-19

400 tonnes of potatoes stuck in storage in the "Nord" region. This huge quantity of potatoes is just an example of the tough situation going through in France and Poland. Farmers forced to sell directly at half price 400 tonnes of potatoes due to the COVID-19 reduced business activity. Prior to COVID-19, they used to sell their products to restaurants and school canteens. Restaurants are being closed in France for various months.

Burger King initiated the called "OPERATION POTATO", the fast-food chain sourced 200 tonnes from French farmers and decided to offer 1 kg to any Burger King customer to help the FR potato sector.
