In W45, the pomegranate market in South East Asia and the Middle East is taken over by large-size Egyptian pomegranates of the 'Wonderful' variety. The high demand for Egyptian pomegranates has influenced the decrease in the demand for Indian pomegranates in smaller sizes 9, 10, 12, and 14 with great Brix and soft seeds. South East Asia and Middle East demand for Indian pomegranates is expected to increase since January, but it is hard to compete with Egyptian varieties, and Egyptian fruit complies with the caliber and prices demanded better than Indian fruit.
