Egypt's Fresh Garlic Prices Soared by 40% MoM in Apr-24 Amid Inflation and Currency Changes

In Egypt, the price of fresh garlic rose sharply by 40% month-on-month (MoM), reaching USD 730.60 per ton (EGP 35,000/ton) in Apr-24, an increase from USD 521.86/ton (EGP 25,000/ton) in Mar-24. This increase was influenced by inflation, changes in currency exchange rates, and a rise in benzene prices, impacting logistics and storage operations.
