For the third consecutive week, the prices of fresh Atlantic salmon fillets in the North American market rose 2.8% week-on-week (WoW). The prices at the end of W51 reached USD 5.45 to 5.60 per pound (lb) for 2/3 lb fillets and USD 5.55 to 5.70/lb for 3/4 lb fillets (FOB Miami). This rise is attributed to heightened demand during the year-end holidays and ongoing airspace restrictions, as salmon contends with fruit and flowers for transportation to the United States (US) market.
