Prices continue to rise for raspberries in a context of shortage of supply in France

Raspberry availability remains very limited from Spain and Morocco, and prices are rising (+15%). European production is estimated at 229,000 MT, which is more than 30% of the world’s production. Many countries target the processing market, but others such as Mexico, the USA, Morocco, Portugal, and Poland are developing products for the fresh export market, which is more profitable. Besides, there are more constraints in terms of logistics, such as the increasing cost of air freight, especially since the beginning of the pandemic and social ones, including the lack of personnel for labor-intensive production.
