Production of Brazil Nut concentrates in Madre de Dios Region

During the first months of 2020, SENASA has certified 633 mt of Brazil nut to be exported to the international markets. The main destinations were United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Turkey, Canada, Israel, Belarus, United States, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Japan, Colombia, United Kingdom, South Africa and Spain.

Brazil nut is mostly produce in the Madre de Dios region, being on if the most important sources for family incomes in the region.

The Brazil nut, being a forest resource that is only collected, keeps the tree standing and promotes its conservation; Brazil nut forests are the main carbon collectors.
