Prospects for the 2021/22 Potato season

According to the current estimates of producers and traders, the quality and caliber of potatoes harvested this year is lower than that of previous seasons.

There is a vast number of small-sized potatoes, 40mm and below. And the quality of products does not allow farmers to offer clients variants of washed potatoes as washing reveals a considerable number of defects.

Traders buy potatoes for washing in Belarus from sandy soils and better quality. The demand for imported potatoes in Egypt, Pakistan is expected to increase significantly from March to June and July in 2022.
