In the first quarter of this year, the Chilean salmon farming industry exported 268.9 thousand WFE (Whole Fish Equivalent) tons, with returns reaching USD 1.76 billion, representing a 1% growth in volume and 7% in export earnings.

In Q1 2023, the ranking of Chilean salmon exporters was also known, where the list is led in volumes by the AquaChile group, which sent 41.1 thousand WFE tons with returns of more than USD 227 million, with drops of 37% and 40%, respectively. Then, in the second place of the new ranking, Salmones Austral was located with 39.2 thousand WFE tons and USD 274 million, signifying strong growth in the period of 198% in terms of volume and 251% in terms of returns. These figures are distorted by the company's seasonal exports of coho salmon. While in third place was Cermaq Chile, which exported 32.9 thousand tons, which produced USD 248 million. This implies an expansion of 64% in volumes shipped and 72% in registered returns. Also, the data is distorted by the seasonal exports of coho salmon. Lastly, Mowi Chile was ranked fifth in the ranking, with 16.5 thousand tons of salmon that were exported in the first quarter of this year, computing close to USD 100 million: this led to increases of 7% in terms of volume and 22% in terms of returns.
