Raw cashew nut (RCN) imports from West Africa to Vietnam are down with less than 120,000MT imported in September. Vietnam needs about 800,000MT of RCN to process until the 2023 domestic crop harvest starts in March 2023. Vietnam is not anywhere close to this number with regards to imports in the pipeline. However, factories in Vietnam, traders in Europe and the US market are convinced that even if all the RCN is not there for processing, there is adequate ready kernel inventory throughout the supply chain to meet demand.
