In December 2022, Turkey achieved an income of USD 50.91M from exporting 10,047MT of dried apricots. For the whole of 2022, Turkey exported 76,355MT of dried apricots generating USD 402M, which is the highest in the history of the country. In addition, apricot kernel exports and domestic market sales amounted to around USD 500M. Malatya is the most important production center of fresh and dried apricots in Turkey. There are around 7M apricot trees in an area of approximately 88,000ha. Approximately 95% of the fresh apricot produced in Malatya is dried and exported.
