Revenue from chicken shipments from Brazil drops 12% this year

Revenue from Brazilian chicken meat exports (considering fresh and processed products) totaled US$ 4.619 billion in the first eight months of 2020, a number 12.1% lower than that registered in the same period of 2019, with US$ 5,253 billion, according to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA).

Even so, in the same period, the volume of shipments totaled 3.178 million tons, a number that surpasses by 1.3% the performance registered in the same period of 2019, with 3.137 million tons.

China remains the main importer with 514.1 thousand tonnes between January and September (+ 28% compared to 2019). Also noteworthy are sales to Libya, with 46.1 thousand tons (+ 79%), Jordan, with 46.2 thousand tons (+ 35%), Russia, with 63.5 thousand tons (+ 47%), Singapore, with 98.4 thousand tons (+ 39%), Vietnam, with 37.3 thousand tons (+ 105%) and South Korea, with 98.5 thousand tons (+ 7%).
