Rice import ban in Iran to come into effect on August 22nd

The Iran Customs Administration has announced that the seasonal import ban on rice will come into effect on the 22nd of August this year.
The total imported volume is around 820 KMT since the beginning of the Iranian fiscal year, March 20, 2020.
The seasonal import ban on rice comes into effect each year in Iran during the rice harvest season to protect domestic production and the ban is expected to continue until November.
