The price of beef in some of the biggest traditional markets in Jakarta and West Java has reached its highest price in the past six months. It has been reported that the price is currently at IDR 130.000/Kg on the retailers level, up from the highest recorded price in the span of July to December 2020 at IDR 120.000/Kg. It is argued that the beef market price has risen since the farmgate price level has also gone up at the range of IDR 110.000-120.000/Kg.
As the current stock of beef in these provinces is expected to decrease in the coming weeks, it is expected that the price can go up even higher than now.
