In October and November, Italy is facing strong price increases for the classic national risotto rice. The Arborio rice price increased 113% YoY to USD 1094.26/MT, while Carnaroli rice increased 118% YoY to USD 1414.85/MT and Roma rice increased by 94% YoY to USD 909.24/MT. This is caused by the reduced availability of rice, lower than the industry's demand, due to the drought and high temperatures reached in the summer, which caused a significant decrease in production.
