40% Decrease Anticipated in Southern Sumatra Coffee Harvest Due to 2022’s Wet-Dry Season Impact

The upcoming coffee bean harvest in the Southern Sumatra region is expected to yield low volumes due to the impact of the wet-dry season experienced at the end of 2022. This weather condition has adversely affected the quality and productivity of coffee cherries. Consequently, coffee producers in the region have projected a significant decrease of at least 40% in 2023's volume compared to the previous year.
