Producers and associations, in general, are showing signs of concern towards the 2022 campaign. The lack of rain that all country is going through is not news to anyone, and despite being a real problem, farmers are now facing another major concern. Because current temperatures and sunlight are not that common at this time of the year, trees are beginning to respond to these conditions about a month earlier, and flowers will start shortly to appear.
This poses nothing more but evidence to what climate changes are all about. Nonetheless, farmers need to be cautious specially if rain falls heavily during the months of March and/or April. If this happening takes place, the worst projections indicate up to 80% in production loss, which will have a major negative impact upon a region that’s known for exporting good to excellent quality fruits.
