Romania is forecasting a lower harvest yield by 10% compared to last year, reaching only 12,8 million tons.
The low forecast is caused by droughts that affected the country and its neighbor Bulgaria as well. The harvest forecast in Bulgaria is to be down by 400-700 KMT lower yield this year.
The harvest is expected to start in September and Romania is the second-biggest corn producer within the EU, after France.
