Romanian poultry and pig farms to receive financial aid of €47 million

The European Commission has decided on financial aid support for COVID - 19 hit poultry and pig farms in Romania.
The aid package will be allocated with €24.7 million to pig farmers and €22.7 million to chicken farmers, totaling in €47.4 million. There are in total 1000 farms expected to take advantage of the financial support and each farm can receive up to €100 thousand. The idea of the financial aid is to enable the farms to continue their business activities uninterrupted, without incurring any job losses, maintain all necessary health and pandemic health conditions, and secure the supply of animal feeds that are crucial in the farming process.
