Root Disease ”Moria” Drastically Reducing Kiwi Production in Italy

In South Korea, the peak season for selling Greek kiwis is between January and March, which is the window when New Zealand kiwis are not available in the South Korean market and kiwi prices are high. While Greece's main competitor in the kiwi market is Italy (both in terms of seasonality and geographic proximity to buyers), the root disease "Moria" is drastically reducing production in Italy, resulting in Zespri sourcing its green kiwis from Greece instead.
