The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) has banned the supply of apples exported and (or) grown in the Brest region of the Republic of Belarus due to suspicions of re-export of these products.
The last violation happened in March when a vehicle transported Polish apples under the guise of Belarusian products was revealed. The products had a phytosanitary certificate issued by the corresponded Belorussian authorities to confirm the Belarusian origin of the apples. However, the label indicated that the apples were grown in Poland.
Restrictions on the supply of apples to the Russian Federation from the Brest region of the Republic of Belarus will remain until the Republic of Belarus will take measures to prevent the recurrence of such violations.
