Russia on the way to become third largest meat importer from Brazil

The two main destinations for Brazilian beef, after China, continue at a weak pace, and the latest figures show that Russia is beginning to gain more participation strength. The country purchased 37.7 thousand tons from January to July, entering a positive percentage of 1.4%.

Egypt, the second importer, bought 25% less, at 75.3 thousand/t, and Chile, traditionally the third largest, continues to suffer the blow that its economy has been suffering from the pandemic, and retreated 37%. As a result, purchases from the South American country, of 39.7 thousand/t, accumulated in the first half, shortened the distance maintained for the Russians.

In the general computation of exports released by Secex, and reflected by Abrafrigo, an entity that gathers the majority of medium and small slaughterhouses, July shipments approached 200 thousand / t, which would be a record number in just a single month.
