As of the latest update on January 5, 2024, the list of allowed fruits for import to China does not include Sai Nam Pueng Mandarin from Thailand. The Thai Department of Agriculture and Cooperative anticipates exporting Sai Nam Pueng Mandarin to China, especially during the peak season around March, when a significant volume of crops will be introduced to local markets. The absence of this mandarin variety from the approved list has raised concerns among orange farm owners in Thailand, as the inability to export to China during the peak season may lead to a situation of "Loss Profit," particularly with the expectation of lower prices in the local markets.
