Due to the slow demand, some Indonesian traders have been selling salmon at breakeven prices. The estimates from several importers still have about 50-100 MT of salmon left in cold storages and they are not selling it fast enough. The average salmon fillet was about USD 14-15/kg. In mid-August salmon, salmon fillet prices are sold at similar or lower prices, at a loss. Importers began to look for cheaper alternatives in order to gain a profit or lessen the loss.
