It's the end of the season of the Chinese plum, and the price stands from USD 1.38-19.28/carton (RMB 10-140/carton) 2kg per carton in W43. Good-quality plums still have a market, but poor-quality plums are disposed. The average price for Chinese plums in the 2022 season stood at USD 3.30-4.96/kg (RMB 24-36/kg), which is higher than the 2021 average price, which stood between USD 3.03-3.86/kg (RMB 22-28/kg). The price increase is attributed to the drop in production due to the Xinjiang epidemic outbreak and the increasing production costs and freight costs. The prices of production materials such as pesticides and fertilizers in producing areas have risen, as well as the transportation costs. The increasing production costs have created higher prices for the fruit this season.
