The sesame seed suppliers are reluctant to export their sesame seed bound to Japan due to strict regulations imposed on the documentation and requirements of the product. This causes the suppliers to have a lot more input costs when it comes to registrations and certifications for their product, including requirements for storing the product upon harvest. This also causes a longer duration of the product at the port of arrival and is still a risk of rejection by country regulators.
