Shortage of Portabello Mushroom during rainy season in Indonesia

The rainfall has started in Indonesia since September 2021 at a medium to a high level and affected Portabella mushrooms harvest.
Currently, there’s a shortage of Portabella mushrooms, harvest decrease up to 75% The harvest amounted to 14MT per day in the previous season and dropped by 3.5 MT per day. So prices from distributors to retailers rose 20%, USD 0.9 per kg jump into USD 1.075 per kg approximately.
To cover the demand of Portabella markets, the distributor advises the retailers to use Champignon mushroom of which price is 60% lower than Portabella. This shortage situation will last until early Jan 2022.
