Poor harvests and a shortage of potatoes across the EU, including in Poland, have a negative impact on producers who use potatoes as a raw material. Most producers of potato starch and fries only have enough product to supply current clients and nothing left over for new customers. The above products are therefore extremely scarce, with suppliers having zero incentive to reduce prices. As a result, buyers must decide whether to pay the offered price or go without the product altogether.
