Vietnamese Shrimp Exports to China Surged 143% YoY in the First Two Months of 2024

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), there was a notable resurgence in shrimp demand within the Chinese market. From Jan-24 to Feb-24, China emerged as a pivotal market for Vietnamese shrimp, with exports totaling USD 81 million, marking a remarkable 143% increase from the previous year.
Moreover, according to VASEP, Vietnamese shrimp had a competitive pricing advantage over rival suppliers from Ecuador and India. However, what truly sets Vietnamese shrimp apart is its perceived higher quality.
