Significant increase of the surfaces in Perfume, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants in France

According to the first results of the Agricultural Census 2020 carried out by Agreste (The statistics and forecasting service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry), the area of PPAM (Perfume, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants) is about 62,000 ha, which confirms its strong growth in recent years.
Contrary to the general trend observed in several agricultural production, the surface in PPAM records a growth of more than 60% compared to the surface in 2010. Seed production accounts for a large proportion of the area, particularly for coriander (77%), parsley (42%), and dill (41%).
