According to the seafood players in Indonesia, skipjack will start taking over supply from Indonesia for their domestic market starting in September, ending in February. Therefore, the price of skipjack is set to be much lower compared to the previous month. Most of the preferences for processed skipjack will be sea-frozen instead of land-frozen due to the need to control the fish's levels of histamine and to maintain the fish's quality for further processing at food packing sites.
