Demand for French plums is not as strong as it was at the start of the season due to quality issues caused by the heat waves and drought. The South West of France, which represents around 85% of the volumes of French plums, is the region which starts harvesting first. Quality issues have led some buyers to stop purchasing before the South East region had started harvesting. This is an obstacle to sell good quality plums from the South East mountain region.
