The national sowing progress is today at 31.9% of the 850K projected hectares which represents an increase of 100K (or 13.3%) more compared to the previous campaign.
The progress for the past 2 weeks was 16.3% thus exhibiting a delay of 7% when making a y-o-y comparison. Fresh rains renewed water reserves and helped to improve the condition of the fields. They also brought to light new and increased intentions in sunflower sowing for the current campaign. The central producing region’s sowing is gaining momentum but it is slower towards the north since the region’s traditional sowing window of the cereal has not yet begun.
Looking at the Central-East zone of Entre Ríos, the region is needing some rain in order to maintain field conditions. Sowing progress is already at 55% of an estimated area of 68K hectares.
The progress for the past 2 weeks in the Central-North region of Santa Fe was 19% where now 51% of the projected area has been sown.
Early batches sowing continues to take place in the Western areas of Buenos Aires-North of La Pampa, the Salado Basin, and the Center of Buenos Aires. Moving towards the South, early batches sown are now emerging at the same time rains improved unsown field’s water reserves.
