South Africa reaches record high yield in wheat crop

South African wheat producers reached a record high yield in wheat crop. South Africa produced 2 to 3 million MT of wheat in the 2021/22 season, which is the largest harvest in 20 years. This bodes well with the current concerns around wheat supplies from Ukraine and Russia. South Africa used to import wheat, but with an increase in local production, wheat import demands have decreased in the market.
