Ethylene oxide residues detected in Indian chia.

Due to Covid-19, Europe imposed strict quality regulations toward many food products, including chia. It has been reported that many chia cargos from India with ethylene oxide residues were detected, which are used to reduce the microbiological contamination of the product. This situation directly hit the Indian chia market, benefiting the South American market instead.
