Southern Africa 2023 Citrus Export Volumes as of W15

The Southern African lemon exports are in full swing, with 4.7M cartons packed by W15, which is more than the 3.9M cartons packed by this time in the 2022 season. The Middle East has received 50% of this fruit, with most of the balance shipped to Russia (18%) and Asia (15%). 1.3M cartons of grapefruit have been packed, with 61% shipped to the EU, 17% to Asia, and 15% to Russia. Mandarins are starting to pick up, with 900,000 cartons packed (mostly satsuma), with 35% shipped to the UK, 32% to the EU, and 27% to Russia.
