Spain is at the forefront of the battle against the new outbreak of Swine Fever Virus. Since decades ago, the Research Network of Animal Health (RISA) established two research facilities in the country that monitors and works with this disease, preventing it from entering the country.

Spain eradicated this virus in 1957, when the last case was reported, however, more than 50 years after that last case, the country has raised the alert to the maximum level, implementing protocols and carrying a large number of tests on the porcine population to ensure the new outbreak does not spread across the country.
