The United Kingdom imported almost 100 million fewer liters of wine in 2021 (-6.8%) after reaching its all-time high in 2020. The 1,361 million liters imported in 2021 represent the lowest amount since 2013. However, the value of purchases broke records with 3,491 million pounds (+2%), as the average price rose by 9.4% to 2.57 GBP per liter, the highest in the historical series.
Spain is already the third country that invoices the most for sales to the United Kingdom, after surpassing Australia and New Zealand. Spain grew by 1.9% to 266.7 million pounds, a historical record, and surpassed Australia (-10.9% to 249.2 million) and New Zealand (-20.9% to 220.7 million) as the third seller. France in value and Italy in volume, first suppliers.
