The Spanish mandarin shows high prices in W4 due to production shortages, high inflation, and high demand in Europe. The season is forecasted to end in mid-March 2023. Most suppliers are avoiding exports to overseas destinations and directing all available volumes to the European market as the buying prices are high and the transit time for delivery does not exceed 2-3 days, reducing risk. In W4 the price level for the Tango and Nadorcott varieties stood between USD 1.85/kg (EUR 1.70) and USD 2.07/kg (EUR 1.90) EXW Spain.
