Spanish goat meat exports have slowed down from October until W3 and reached a critical situation for some suppliers with cold stores full of products. One of the main reasons is the reduction in imports of Australian goats by China, which has caused the Middle East market to buy from Australia at prices that Spanish exporters cannot compete with. The live goat price in December stood at USD 1.08/kg, whereas in W3, the price dropped to USD 0.87/kg.
