2021 speciality coffee crop was expected to be smaller compared to the previous crop, due to the low biennial. Lack of rains has added to the problem and increased this year's production uncertainties. The production of speciality coffee has been affected due to uneven flowering, high temperatures and lack of rain during the main development periods of the plants. A tighter supply in the upcoming season should draw market attention when operators start to take into account the lower production. In 2020, the coffee region recorded two intense hurricanes, which has to worsen the conditions of limited supply for this type of coffee in the upcoming season.
