Ecuadorian banana producers are faced with high gas prices and the rising costs of goods. FENABE, the main banana growers association, has claimed that banana prices have maintained low since the start of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Prices have dropped by almost USD 3-4 per box, compared to 2021 without any signs of improvement. This has driven most small and medium producers into the edge of bankruptcy.
