In W26, herring fishing in the North Sea reported a total catch of 8,100 metric tons (mt), with the most productive day being June 30, with 1,800 mt caught. Over 30 vessels participated, highlighting high activity in the British zone with 2,400 mt due to low yields in Norway. Consumer demand remained strong, with 7,900 mt sold for consumption in W26. To date, less than 52 thousand mt have been fished out of an annual quota of 150,830 mt, slightly below last year's figure. The sizes of the herring vary from 130 to over 230 grams (g).
