As soybean, maize and rice exports reduced due to the off-season and low buffer stocks, sugar and pork took the lead of the Brazilian exports in September, helping to strengthen the annual results.
The total exported volume of agro was $ 8.6 bi in September, 4.8% higher than the same period of last year. And it accounted for 46.3% of the total exports in comparison to 40.2% of last year.
This pace was led by the sugar and alcohol sector, up 89.8%. Exports of raw cane sugar more than doubled, with an increase of 111.3%, whilst ethanol was up 10.9%. China, India, Bangladesh and Indonesia were the main destinations of the Brazilian sugar in Sep.
Pork was the second product in relevance, up 34.3%. The main destination was China, which accounted for 55% of the total.
