Sunflower Lecithin Demand in Turkey Stagnates Due to High Prices and Low Supply

Sunflower lecithin demand in Turkey remains considerably lower than usual due to high prices. The prices increased exponentially due to the Russia-Ukraine war, as Ukraine, one of the important origin countries for sunflower lecithin, was unable to supply any products during this period. Consequently, the supply contracted, which pushed the prices above the USD 5,000/MT levels in W42. The food processors are reportedly using different emulsifiers in production instead of sunflower lecithin to increase supply.
