Swedish potato producers are expecting a 10-15% larger harvest in 2022 with good sizes compared to last year. Smaller sizes in the market have almost run out due to a big summer sale to the restaurant industry, while retailers have done fewer promotions in 2022 or kept prices higher than in previous years. Prices in the market went up for the 2022 season after negotiations with retailers as they are the driving factor for market fluctuations in Sweden. There is still a large stock of larger sized potatoes on the market at good prices for industry buyers. Potatoes are trading at USD 0.23-0.27 in bulk.
