Vietnam's Sweet Potato Exports to China Surged While Prices Doubled in Jan-Oct 2023

From Jan-23 to Oct-23, sweet potato export turnover to China increased by 6 to 9 times, doubling the product's price over the same period, according to the General Department of Customs. The report from the General Department of Customs reveals that sweet potato export turnover reached USD 2.1 million in the first ten months, marking a nearly ninefold rise compared to 2022. This substantial surge is due to the signing of a Protocol on plant quarantine for sweet potato products in Apr-23, enabling the official export of sweet potatoes to China.
