Taiwan: consumer demand for high value imported fruits slow down

According to Taiwanese fruit importers, 2021 begins with slow demand for high-value fruits such as Japanese Fuji apple and Chilean cherry. The high-value fruits are often gifted in box sets before the Chinese New Year holidays start, however, the consumers are pessimistic about the market due to COVID-19 and cutting back on spending. The options of the gift box have turned into other alternative and cheaper options. The importers are also being conserved when it comes to importing higher-value fruits at this moment.
