Data indicates that the production of Tanzanian raw cashew nuts has increased by 14% from 210,786 MT in 2020/21 to 240,158MT in 2021/22. Mtwara produces 54% of the nation's raw cashews, followed by Lindi (28%), Ruvuma (11%), and Coast (7%). 90% of Tanzanian cashews are exported in raw form to Vietnam and India, while the remaining 10% is sold to the United States, Europe, Africa, and the domestic market. 208,375MT of RCN were exported between January and September 2022, with 112,093MT going to Vietnam and 96,282MT to India.
